On March 3, the LIA and LIRD jointly filed an Aquatic Nuisance Control Permit Applicaiton with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). This application requests a permit to use the herbicide, ProcellaCOR, as part of a multi-pronged effort to control the infestation of Eurasian Watermilfioil in Lake Iroquois. The DEC will now begin the review process which can take up to 180 days. At the same time as this application was filed, a notice to all property owners whose property abuts Lake Iroquois or contiguous waterbodies up to one mile downstream was sent via USPS informing them of the filing and the permit review process.
