It’s been quite a year for all of us. Who could have anticipated the challenges we have all faced this year? Some of our usual projects and activities had to be put on hold due to the COVID pandemic, but we were still able to do quite a lot around the lake.  Check out our 2020 LIA Annual Report to find out more.

We are especially pleased and proud to be able to announce that for another year, Phosphorus levels in the lake have been significantly decreasing. This decrease has moved Lake Iroquois from the eutrophic zone (high nutrient content) to the mesotrophic zone (medium nutrient content). This change has come about through the hard work of the LIA board and volunteers who have completed many projects that have reduced sediment and nutrient runoff into the lake and through the amazing support of all of our members and of the surrounding towns. You can find the data in the Vermont Lake Scorecard.

We’ve made great progress but we still have a lot of work to do to continue to protect and improve both the water quality of the lake and the health of the surrounding watershed but we can’t do it without your continuing support. It’s easy to join or renew your membership for 2021 online or by mail.
